Our beautiful Villa Pravernara dates back to the 1600s and is intricately connected with De Cardenas, a family of Spanish origin, from whom the villa received its name.
The villa stands halfway up a hill, overlooking the valley south of Valenza, the so-called “City Of Gold”. The region and the road that crosses it bear the name of the house which underlines its influence on the area. A tranquil haven, Villa Pravernara is only one hour away from the main cities Milan, Turin and Genoa.
Over the centuries, the villa has had various owners. It experienced two world wars, was occupied by Nazi troops, and in 1964, came into the possession of the Lenti family, completely abandoned. With many sacrifices, a slow and careful restoration of the original structure began, with the frescoes and furnishings being restored and the historical-architectural features highlighted. Today, the villa remains essentially unchanged in its architecture.
Together with her parents Be and Andreas, Sheila discovered the house in 2022, dreaming to escape the hustle and bustle of the big city life in Berlin. At first intimidated by the sheer size and responsibility such a project bears, the family decided to take a leap of faith and dive into unknown territories by lovingly renovating the space and surrounding areas, growing together as a family and learning new ways of living.
